Seasalt Cornwall - Microcement

In 2025, Marmo were appointed to deliver specialist Microcement flooring to the entrance portal areas of multiple new Seasalt Cornwall retail stores across the UK, in Bromley, Derby and Eastbourne.

Working alongside our longstanding client and main contractor on these projects, we were responsible for the installation of a bespoke Microcement finish to the store entrance flooring, incoporating the Seasalt brand identity through an inlaid logo design. 

The entrance portal floor area had been excavated in advance by the contractor to allow for the flooring build-up. Our role as Microcement specialists involved:

• Completing additional substrate preparation works required for the Microcement system
• Setting out and installing the inlaid Seasalt logo, including precision placement of steel letters and trim
• Applying a smooth over coarse Microcement finish to achieve a durable yet refined surface
• Delivering a seamless, joint-free entrance floor suitable for a high-footfall retail environment

A critical requirement for the Seasalt brand was colour accuracy and consistency across all stores. The Microcement finish was matched to RAL colour 5008, a deep, understated tone which compliments Seasalt Cornwall's coastal-inspired branding. 

To achieve this, our Microcement supplier digitally scanned approved vinyl flooring samples to create a bespoke custom colour, ensuring a precise match. This same colour was rolled out across all Seasalt locations completed in 2025, maintaining brand continuity. 

The completed Microcement entrance floors at Seasalt Bromley, Derby and Eastbourne provide:

• A clean, comtemporary first impression for customers
• A hard-wearing, low maintenance surface ideal for heavy foot traffic
• A bespoke branded detail through the inlaid Seasalt logo
• Seamless integration with the wider store design and company branding

Seasalt create quality clothing and accessories inspired by Cornwall's landscape, culture and maritime heritage, offering a wide range of clothing for women of all ages and shapes. The brand was founded by Neil, Leigh and David Chadwick, inspired by their fathers store "General Clothing Stores" which opened in 1981, selling traditional workwear to local farmers, fisherman and artists. 

The brand is now one of Cornwall's largest employers, including a mix of fashion and textile designers, artists and illustrators, with over 80 stores across the UK, Ireland, the US and New Zealand.
